The SC Freedom Caucus spent MONTHS getting an over-the-counter Ivermectin bill across the finish line. IT PASSED THE HOUSE 100-9. The Senate approved it 38-3. Then Republican primary season happened, Freedom Caucus members backed some challengers to establishment RINO incumbents and MEGA RINO, House Majority Leader Davey Hiott, decided the bill needed to die.
In one of his final acts before retiring RINO, Hiott, moved to bury the legislation in committee — a procedural kill shot. The stated grievance wasn't policy. It was that Freedom Caucus Rep. Jay Kilmartin had endorsed a primary challenger against an incumbent Republican colleague.
LET THAT SINK IN: A bill that passed with 93% support in the House was killed not because of any objection to its merits, but because leadership wanted to send a message. Enough Republicans crossed the aisle to join demoncommiecrats and make it happen.
The Freedom Caucus didn't lose the primaries — they won them, and picked up seats. So rather than accept that verdict from voters, establishment , RINO, leadership used a procedural maneuver on the way out the door to punish the people who beat them!!!!
As SC Freedom Caucus member, State Rep. Thomas Beach, wrote on social media: "GOP caucus priorities are more about punishing conservatives than helping families who need medical help."
