Applications For SC School Choice Program Open Next Week Parents looking for more educational options for their children will be happy to hear that applications for South Carolina's new ESA program open on Monday, Jan. 15. The program offers $6,000 scholarships to qualifying low-income students to pay for K-12 expenses that include private school tuition, textbooks, tutoring, computers, transportation, extracurricular activities and more. The program is set to begin in the upcoming 2024-25 school year, pending an ongoing legal challenge which the S.C. Supreme Court will hear on Mar. 6.
